ONE: Create more than you watch other people create. You know the saying, comparison is the thief of joy, right? Well, if we don’t spend all of our time comparing, we can focus on ourselves. When we truly put ourselves first we make magic and move mountains in our own lives.
TWO: Unlearning the lies we tell ourselves. Remember all the times you’ve told yourself you are ugly or not good enough? Those are lies. We tell ourselves these lies over and over and then wonder why we feel so down. Imagine saying those things to a younger sibling all day.. it would leave them hurt and unmotivated. Cheerlead yourself like you do everyone around you.
THREE: Build up your strengths instead of focusing on your weaknesses. I used to spend all my time trying to break all of my bad habits. However, it left me obsessed over my faults. What we focus on will grow. So now, I work on my good habits and my strengths so that THOSE grow instead. And in time, my bad habits sort of broke themselves.
FOUR: Needing to be liked by everyone. The longer you seek validation in others, the longer you hold yourself back. You can validate yourself RIGHT NOW. Do YOU like you? Do YOU respect you? Are YOU happy with your choices? Once you learn to validate yourself, you won’t need it from anywhere else. I love this quote: build it well and they will come. Meaning, those who need to find you and who are meant to be in your life, will find you.
FIVE: There is enough to go around. I used to feel so stressed when I saw other’s in my field succeed more than I was. However, we don’t know what all went into that. We don’t know their back story or how long they have been hustling behind the scenes. Now, I see someone else succeed and let it be a positive reminder that the goals I want ARE POSSIBLE. It leaves me motivated and no longer jealous and bitter. Cheer each other on, because their is enough abundance for us all.
